We began beekeeping in the Spring of 2009.  Our first 2 hives, Louella and Elizabeth, are named in honor of Jerry’s mother who instilled in him the love of gardening.  We have continued the process of naming our hives.  We now have Alice, Arlene, Beth, Bonnie, Connie and of course Chrissy to name a few.  Each year we move to the next letter of the alphabet.  When we get to “Q” we’ll need some suggestions!  All of our hives are located in Grant County, Kentucky.  Our children, Julia and Luke, are reluctant beekeepers.  However, they are very eager helpers when it comes time to extract and bottle the delicious honey.  We feel blessed to be able to observe God’s creation and assist in the caring of one of his most fascinating creations; the honey bee.
